Democracy as a Goal and a Driving Force for Development: The Case Study of Vietnam
Abstract
The article explores the complex interplay between democracy and development in Vietnam, a country with a unique historical and political context. Through document analysis, it examines the legal and political reforms implemented since the Doi Moi in 1986 to understand how democratic elements have contributed to Vietnam's socio-economic development. We argue that, despite existing challenges, the integration of democratic principles into Vietnam's development framework serves not only as an ultimate goal but also as a powerful catalyst for economic innovation, human development, and sustainable governance. The conclusion emphasizes that to maintain sustainable and inclusive development, Vietnam must continue its commitment to democratic values by improving governance mechanisms, expanding citizen participation, increasing transparency, and ensuring that development processes reflect the needs of the people. Only by deeply integrating these principles into its development strategy can Vietnam achieve long-term growth and stability.

The Reforms of the Ruler of Dai Viet Trinh Cuong and Their Negative Consequences
Abstract
Chua Trinh Cuong, the de facto ruler of Northern Vietnam at the beginning of the 18th century, is considered in historiography to be an active reformer who sought to establish order in Vietnamese society, achieve its stability and sustainable development. All the blame for the subsequent brutal civil wars is usually placed on his successor, Chua Trinh Giang (ruled 1730–1740), who departed from his father's line and stopped dealing with socio-economic issues. The article, based on primary sources, contains a substantive analysis of the reforms carried out by Chinh Cuong, and proves that in essence they became one of the reasons for the large-scale and long-term social crisis in the country in the middle of the 18th century, which almost led to the fall of the Trinh regime.

Transformation in Beliefs and Religious Practices among Religious Followers in Present-Day Vietnam
Abstract
Vietnam is a country with diverse religions. The transformation in beliefs and religious practices among religious followers in Vietnam is constantly influenced by global trends, the industrial revolution 4.0, the country’s achievements in renovation, international integration, and the Party and State’s religious policies. This context drives religious organizations to continually revive, develop both structurally and operationally, and diversify their activities. However, this dynamism also brings complexity and impacts various aspects of social life.
This study sheds light on the current process of transformation in faith and religious practices among followers of different religions in Vietnam. Furthermore, it provides authentic information for relevant researchers to compare, contrast, and support scientific arguments. Ultimately, it offers reasonable grounds for Vietnam’s functional agencies to issue and enforce more effective policies related to religion.

Analysis of Grammatical Transformations (Using the Example of Translation from Vietnamese into Russian)
Abstract
The article considers the issue of using grammatical transformations in the process of translating Vietnamese texts into Russian. The author notes that the need for this type of transformation is determined by the discrepancies in grammatical forms and structures in Russian and Vietnamese languages, which belong to different language systems. The article distinguishes absolute and partial discrepancies, analyzes the frequency of using such grammatical transformation techniques as substitutions, rearrangements, division, and unification. Theoretical provisions are illustrated by examples taken from modern Vietnamese media. It is concluded that the use of grammatical transformations, which involve replacing grammatical forms and constructions of the Vietnamese language with formally non-equivalent forms and constructions of the Russian language, contributes to achieving the equivalence of the original and translation texts.
