New Year welcoming address from the Editor-in-chief

Dear colleagues - authors and readers of the "Russian Journal of Vietnamese Studies", I wish You happy New Year and good health, well-being at home and success at work in the coming difficult, specific year! I personally would like to thank the authors who have published their articles in our journal, and colleagues who have read these articles and used them in own research, wish you all the fertility of ideas and scientific creativity in the coming year. Let me express the hope that our cooperation will only get stronger in 2019. Our electronic journal, which has already four issues (http://www.ifes-ras.ru/vs/issue), acquired full status, i.e. permission to publish as a media, journal index ISSN, international classifier DOI for each scientific article. It has a variety of content and a worthy team of authors, that consists not only of the leading Russian researchers on Vietnam, but our foreign colleagues too, including those from Vietnam, Australia, USA and France. We especially welcome very young scientists who should develop the traditions of our scientific school. It is gratifying that we are publishing more and more materials in English. The journal is placed in the leading scientific databases and libraries of Russia, like Russian Science Citation Index and Cyberleninka. Recently the journal acquired the International Scientific Index (ISI) due to achievement of the most authoritative Western citation system - Web of Science, where it has rating in Emerging Science Citation Index. This confirms the reliability and objectivity of our publications, its full compliance with the content and design to the highest international standards. At the same time, we need continuing to improve the quality and variety of materials on Vietnamese topics and expand the range of authors at the expense of foreign colleagues. I urge you to contribute to this goal in every possible way. Obviously, we also need to expand the geography of our publications within reasonable limits, which would contribute to the replenishment of the editorial portfolio and the solution of this task. Let me propose to include articles related to neighboring countries of Indochina and ASEAN into the realm of our publications. I will be glad to hear your opinions and suggestions.
