Abstract

The article highlights one of the sources of the ideas of immortality and art, culture and history, Antiquity and modernity in B. L. Pasternak’s Doctor Zhivago. The analysis shows that as the writer worked on the novel, his ideas might have been in uenced by his communications with his cousin O. M. Freydenberg, his long-term correspondent and congenial spirit.
