This article based on historical sources of XIX th century reconstructs the biography of Le Van Duyet - the first-rate dignitary and commander, one of the key figures in the political arena of Vietnam in the XVIII-XIX centuries. In addition to his biography, the author focuses on the functional role that Le Van Duyet played in the «power-citizen» system, and his place in the political system of Vietnam in the early XIX th century. The study of his biography also contributes to a better understanding of the realities and specific character of Vietnamese society (especially the extreme south of the country - Gia Dinh), as they we can quite clearly see them through the example of the military and political career of this state figure.
В статье на базе источников XIX в. производится реконструкция биографии одной из ведущих фигур на политической арене Вьетнама рубежа XVIII-XIX вв. - крупнейшего сановника и полководца Ле Ван Зюета. Помимо описания событийной стороны его жизни, особое внимание уделено выявлению той функциональной роли, которую он играл в системе «власть-подданный», и того места, которое он занимал в политической системе Вьетнама начала XIX века. Изучение его биографии также способствует лучшему пониманию реалий и специфики вьетнамского общества (особенно крайнего юга страны - области Зядинь), поскольку они весьма явственно прослеживаются на примере военно-политической карьеры данного деятеля.
