The simulation takes into account the physical and chemical properties of fuels, fuel injection characteristics, and gas exchange parameters.</p> <p>Results: The calculations provided pressure and temperature variations in the cylinder, heat release rate characteristics, as well as nitrogen oxide (NOx) concentration and particulate matter (PM) emissions for both fuel types. The results demonstrate that the use of SME B5 biofuel leads to lower NOx and PM emissions compared with conventional diesel fuel.</p> <p>Conclusion: Biofuel SME B5 can be considered a promising alternative fuel for marine diesel engines, allowing a reduction in environmental impact while maintaining acceptable engine performance characteristics.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Актуальность. Показано, что биотопливо SME B5 можно рассматривать как перспективную альтернативу традиционному дизельному топливу для судовых энергетических установок, обеспечивая снижение экологической нагрузки при сохранении приемлемых эксплуатационных характеристик двигателя.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>marine engine</kwd><kwd>biofuel</kwd><kwd>environmental performance indicators</kwd><kwd>NOx emission</kwd><kwd>soot content</kwd><kwd>Diesel-RK</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>судовой двигатель</kwd><kwd>биотопливо</kwd><kwd>экологические показатели</kwd><kwd>выбросы NOx</kwd><kwd>содержание сажи</kwd><kwd>Diesel-RK</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Reddy CV, Reddy DPK, Srinadh M, et al.
